Love it!

We love this park! We live in Indiana but my parents live in Waunakee, and we hit this park with our beagle, Napa, whenever we are in town visiting. This park is huge compared to ones near us, and there are always lots of people with their dogs. running, swimming, and playing. We've never had a problem with misbehaving dogs here, either (Napa is pretty shy). You can pay on site without having to register on a weekday at some off-site office, which is nice also.

Location is currently wrong on the map

one thing to note is that the map (and Dog Park Finder App) currently have the location quite wrong.

the entrance to the park is near the intersection of 113 and River Road. You turn east off 113, and 100 yards past the intersection, there is a little brown sign that says country park, with an arrow. Go down the dirt road that parallels 113 for a little ways, and you will dead-end into the park parking lot.

EDITOR COMMENT: Thank you, we have moved the map pin to this location. Let us know if it needs any adjustment.

Only Madison Area dog park with water!

Donut and I have gone to this park twice now, and had a wonderful time both times. There are two docks with dog ramps, and also a huge field area to run around in. Something else nice about this park with that there is actually a decent amount of shaded area, so you can walk with the dog and not totally be in the sun the whole time.

It takes Donut a little bit of time to figure out the ramps, but once she does, its all fun.

Another nice benefit of this park is that right near the entrance of the park there is a place with a self-service dog wash, so we can go have fun, and then get Donut all clean once she is totally tuckered out.

Great dog park

Great dog park - There is a water/swimming area, so bring a towel if your dog likes to swim. Dogs and people who frequent this park are very friendly.

Dog Swim Area

They hadn't put the docks out yet when we went, but several dogs were still able to make their way down the rocks into the water to cool off.

Note, this park is also named Cherokee Marsh, don't try to go to Cherokee Marsh Fishery like we did!
