Zoe and I come out here everyday! She absolutely loves this park. It is big enough to run to her hearts content but not too big that you lose track of where she is. The trails are mulched and maintained. The smaller park has water and it nice to hose Zoe down after she goes in the pond. Great park!! We love it!!
We happened upon this park a few weeks ago and love it!
What great escape for doggie day type people! Really loved the open field ran and ran and ran. Please remember use the doggie gloves and keep the place cleaner than you found it.
Good park, but watch out for the people that feel the need to open the wrong part of the gat instead of going through the double doors. I guess it's closer to their car and they don't have the type of dog that will run away if it gets out of the fenced area. So beware, you will need to keep on eye on the gate if you have a dog that runs. I would be nice if they would post a sign on this gate that says "do not open", even though, it should be OBVIOUS that it shouldn't be used.
Hi! My name is Marty...I'm a little Beloit Boston with a big attitude! My people took me to the Milton Dog Park and the Paw Print Park today, it was the first time for all of us! I was so happy to run, run, run in such a huge area!! My people were also surprised to see the nice fencing...no worries about me running too far! I met some new friends and some people friends too! Check out the great snap shots of me running really fast and some of my crazy friends playing in the water...this is such a nice place for all to enjoy! Thanks for the enormous effort, beautiful places and spaces!!! Woof!! Marty
Went today for the first time and I must say I was disappointed, and it takes a lot to disappoint me I really appreciate anyone who puts up dog parks, so thanks for the effort! The "big dog" area has some kinds of heavy equipment, propane tanks, telephone poles and cable spools all over. While the path is nicely wood-chipped, it surrounds what they call a "pond" (which it well could be in spring) but is actually just a swamp. And of course my boy went right for it, and came out smelling like the freshest, grossest smell of manure you can imagine. Ah, the "dairy-air!" So, I'll pass go to Palmer Park or the River walk in Janesville from now on. Lucky I brought my own clean up bags too the dispenser was empty. From the looks of it no one cares to clean up their dog doo anyway and given the smells of that swamp it might not matter!
We went to the park for the first time today with our seven month old Great Pyrenees. It was wonderful! Cujo made some wonderful new friends, but the fencing around the "large dogs" area is not complete, so we had to play in the small dogs area. Really looking forward to summer in this park!!!
The playground will be not only for neighborhood children, but for children of families w/dogs. Many parents would prefer to have their kids play on the playground rather than run around the dog area. I know I would. It is rare that a family has the choice to leave the children at home, and for single parents that is never an option. The playground has been in the works long before the dog park plan was moved to this location. If you feel the children will ruin your experience, you are free to move to the large dog area. There are nice trails, woods, open areas, and a large flat field (entire west side). I hope you can understand, and still enjoy the nice area/amenities we have to offer. Check out the new blog too:

The park is great place to take our furry friends....they really love it& it's wonderful being able to share special time with & for them. Why is it necessary to add a playground....it would be nice to let it remain a dog park without the added burden of kids running around screaming & wrecking the sense of serenity & lighthearted dogplay the park now provides.
Signs will be out shortly, as will a playground, bridge over the ravine in lg dog park, benches, dog wash sink & basin (yes, a bath for dogs!), water source, and paved parking. Thanks for coming!

My name is Moxie. I am an Affenpincher from Janesville and I took my people to the Milton Dog Park today. Boy did I have fun and they seemed to enjoy themselves too. I spend a lot of my time at the Janesville Paw Print Park, but the Tails and Trails Dog Park was a great change of pace.
Some people think I am a small dog, but I don't know what they are talking about. I went right into the big dog enclosure, and it was so large, I didn't even realize I was in a fenced in area.
I really enjoyed splashing around in the water and even took a moment to roll on my back in the cool mud. It was a little bit warm today, so the water was wonderful! I got a little muddy, but my people brought a towel to dry me off, and if I know them, I will probably get a bath tonight.
I also really enjoyed the path which was (almost completely) paved with wood chips. It was better than walking on dead grass or mud. My people thought walking on the wood chips was softer than walking on concrete but the wood chips do tend to get into sandals.
My people were a little confused because there weren't any signs other than the main sign, and we completely missed the parking lot because we didn't know it was there. Maybe the other humans will put up signs that explain things better.
Overall it was a great change of pace for me. Thanks to everyone that contributed their money and/or their labor in making this park a reality. I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Just took my dog there for the first time today! WOW...he's exhausted from all the running, swimming and playing with his newest friends! What a great place to spend an afternoon! Dozer will be spending a lot of time there this summer!
My dog loves this park, lots of sticks to play with.
My dog Wrigley is a yellow lab and her favorite place to go is Tails and Trails the park is perfect especially with the pond for swimming cant wait till its all finished would like to know of future events fund raising etc. Again best dog park around thank you from Wrigley's daddy.
Being the lucky owner of 3 dogs, I am always on the look out for places to entertain and exercise them. We are so very blessed to live a short distance away from this amazing dog park. Although still in process of being completed, you will be hard pressed to find something comparable to this treasure. The hills and valleys are a wonderful challenge for the dogs. And the pond is an amazing training feature for all dogs. My Duck Tolling Retriever ran right in without hesitation. The smile on her face was priceless.
Once all the additional features are in place this will be a park for the whole family. We are very lucky to have free access this year but I would gladly pay a fee to use this fantastic facility. My pups and I are looking forward to many, many hours enjoying this park.
Thanks to all the volunteers to put their hard work into making this possible through both with physical labor and all the fundraising efforts. You are all amazing and generous people!!! And thanks to the City of Milton for backing this wonderful endeavor.
Furry hugs and kisses to the volunteers, and three tail wags for the Dog Park in Milton!!!!!!!
April and May will only make this park better! We are hearing great comments already, and seeing people really take advantage of this gem of a park already this year. Last weekend I spent an hour both Saturday and Sunday out to the park. In that time I counted a total of 54 dogs either coming or going. Many dogs looked like they were having a blast fetching and playing in the pond. One guy put on a nice show with his Lab's training routine in small dog park, and my dog found that she was queen of the world when she climbed the wood chip piles in order to get a better view of the other dogs location. Be sure to check this park out. Bear with us as we work to install signage, a new (and nice size) playground for kids, benches, picnic tables, a dog wash sink, drinking water, and more. The park is FREE for 2009...thanks to all of the donors and volunteers who made this happen. Still feel the urge to help? Visit one of the websites for donation, memorials, dedications, or other ways you can show your support. Thank you, and thanks to the DOGPARKUSA.COM for this great website!
They have both fences up. All gates are on. People are already using it. One guy said they are going to leave it pass free and free of charge all of 2009. They are going to install a playground they ordered in March or April along with benches, tables, fresh water, dog wash sink, and parking. I was told there was a new parking lot there, but it had just snowed 6+ inches the night before so I could not see it. This looks like a well thought out park I will be using a great deal. I can't wait till it is finished.

This park is to open this month and we can't wait! The posts are up and the braces for the fencing are almost all on. We heard it will be finished shortly. There is a small, couple acre pond in the big dog area I can bird train. They are working on an agility course from what one committee member told me. It should be really nice. They have about 4 acres from what I can see for small dogs, that is near a new parking lot they just had installed. There is a trail that looks like it is paved or has gravel leading to what appears to be the entrance to the large dog park. Both areas are fenced off, and both areas will have what I call an air-lock or double fenced entrance area. This is nice for placing a leash on your dog as you leave.
I can't wait to see the rest. This will be a one of a kind park. All parks have that one special feature, but this park should be a gem. Ravines, hills, a pond, woods, and lots of area to run. I talked to a neighbor and he said he thinks they just purchased a giant playground that they are going to put in come spring. This park is well thought out and from what I have read is the work of fundraising and donations. Back when I lived in Milton the taxes were already a little high so I am sure this is a blessing for the residents. I live on the edge of Janesville now and was both surprised and proud to know Harmony Township has a role in this. It makes me proud to say I voted for a people willing to partner with neighboring municipalities in the interest of the greater community. Keep up the good work! This dog park is worth checking out. I hope to come back and add a star to the rating this spring when they finish the adding the details that will make this park a full 5 stars.
