Probably my favorite dog park. Worth the drive from Everett! So big that it never senna to be crowded. Plus I love having swimming holes and no Sand!
At 40 acres, the off leash area of Marymoor Park is bigger than most city parks in total. Marymoor is, without question, the finest dog park in the country. The area is left mostly natural, except for the extensive trail system, which would add up to more than two miles if you covered them all. The fields are not mown. By mid summer the grass is tall, much appreciated by the dogs bouncing through it. There are woods too, and blackberry bushes for a fall treat. One of the trails borders the Sammamish Slough (actually a lovely river connecting Lake Sammamish to Lake Washington.) Along this trail are four access points to the water, all nicely designed with easy steps down to a shallow wading area, definitely a favorite with the dogs all year, and their owners in the heat of summer. One caution though, it’s not a place for out of control dogs. If your dog does not respond to your recall, you’ll loose it in an instant. The park is that huge. Although ostensibly fenced, there are no gates. The split-rail fence merely defines the off leash area. My small terrier can easily vault it. Make sure you can control your dog before considering a visit
We love you!
I was a shelter dog and when I was rescued I lived in an area with lots of farmland and farm animals to run around with!!! I have moved all up and down the east coast and now find myself living in suburban Redmond. This park is so close to my dog house that I can walk right down and play with at least 20 different friends at any given time! This place is huge! I can walk circles on the trails and go for a swim!
I travel all over with my dog and have to say this is certainly one of the best off leash parks I've seen. Lots of space which means less crowding and less problems with the dogs feeling stressed and overwhelmed.
Very clean, wood chips on path and great places for pups to have a dip in the water.
A definite go to place for people and well mannered pups.
We take our puppy, Amelia here every weekend--it's as much of a treat for us as it is for her!
This park is the BEST!!! It has everything - lots of room to roam, romp, and chase other dogs or dog toys; lots of water for wading or swimming; lots of open areas for chasing other dogs or just running as fast as you can around in circles, like my dog likes to do! It's only a dollar for parking and well worth it. The entrance is not gated - so if you have a dog that tends to run away, you need to be wary as the entrance opens right to the parking lot. You might want to take your dog on a leash to the interior of the park. Dogs and people are friendly here and my dog and I love this place! It's well-maintained and has doggy clean-up bags available throughout.
I completely agree with the 'Doggie Disneyland' sentiment! This is a wonderful space for dogs to run and sniff and chase and swim... there are fields of tall grass to leap through, several water spots along the stream to swim in, and often big piles of wood chips to climb up and roll around in. There is so much space that it's easy to forget that you're in an enclosure. Well, 95% enclosure... and that last 5% is just enough for a pup to go on a solo adventure. So if you have an explorer in the family, be sure to leash up early in your approach of the parking lot. It's well worth the trek out to Redmond to spend a sunny afternoon here.
There is so much space at this park that even on a very crowded, sunny weekend day, you can still find some great open space to throw the ball or frisbee without hitting anyone! It does get super crowded on good-weather weekends so know that if your dog likes to bolt and not listen in large crowds, you may want to go on a less busy day (or earlier on weekends). Love that there is water so dogs can swim and get a drink as well. There is tall grass/dirt in the late fall-winter and then it dies down spring-summer giving you tons of open spaces. This park is HUGE and also requires a $1 parking fee (available via machines in the two parking lots, CASH ONLY). No fence (at least no fence that would contain any dog - more like pasture fence. No gates - park is opened up straight into parking lots, etc. Best dog park I've ever seen by far!
Marymoor Park is an absolutely great park. Huge open areas, water access, and some trail area also. We also are willing to drive to it from farther away, just because it's so nice.
BUT
This park should not be labeled as fenced, or should at least have a PARTIAL FENCE listing. While the majority of the park is fenced, it is somewhat low, and if your dog is a jumper, it's best to be careful. Also, THERE IS NO GATE AT THE ENTRANCE. I don't mean that there is no double gate system. What I mean is that there is NO gate at all. The dog park is just open to the parking lot.
The idea among folk we've spoken to is that the park is so big, that when your in deep in the park, there's less worry about them getting out into the parking lot. On the contrary, the park is SO big, that if your dog did get out of your sight, it could take ages to find your dog, and you would have no way of knowing if your dog ran out into the parking lot.
Marymoor is our favorite Dog Park. We live in Seattle, surrounded by OLP's but we're willing to take the dog to Marymoor in Redmond on a regular basis just because the whole family loves the huge grassy pasture and the salmon stream with frequent entry points for swimming and ball fetching. Marymoor even has a convenient do-it-yourself dog wash place on site called "Wash Spot" that is quick and cheap and provides everything you need for a well-groomed pup post-swim and romp.
Marymoor park off leash dog area is fenced.
