Hijacked by small dogs

I give it five stars for how nice the park is, but zero stars for the people that go here. The large dog part is packed with toy breeds, which has driven my two huskies from the park. Meanwhile, the small dog side is empty. My pups try to play with a small dog...small dog gets scared and bites...my dog bites back...my dog is the bad dog. I've seen people walking their babies in strollers through the park, which just blows my mind. People bring their dinner in and eat it at a bench. It's just crazy

Park's great, dog owners are not

Saturday we had an incident with a Pit Bull chasing our Lab down and attacking her. She wasn't hurt and admittedly, she runs from aggressive dogs when she should probably just ignore them. But later on I saw the same Pit Bull turn on his owner when she tried to grab his collar and stop him from hassling another dog.

Though this is the first time I've had serious trouble in a half dozen visits to various dog parks in the area, I've decided to avoid OLAs from now on. It's not worth the risk. There are just too many people ignoring the rules that are required to make a common area work. Granted, my dog playing alone doesn't get "socialized" but she also doesn't have to hide between my legs or step in other dog's poo.

Perhaps an on-site security presence would help??!?!

Good, especially for big dogs

A very good dog park, especially with the large amount of space and water fountains. There is no small or timid dog area, though. Most of the larger dogs are untrained, under-exercised, and are often out of control. After 5, the crowd gets very trashy (unneutered aggressive dogs, ignoring their dog's poop, yappy small dogs that will literally pee on you). We've also had problems with disruptive rude children and owners who don't understand the double gate system.

This park is
Best for: Large gregarious dogs. Group play dates.
Worst for: Small or timid dogs. Jumping dogs/escape artists.

Top Notch Park

This is our favorite park so far. It's a very roomy field with a half mile gravel covered flat loop with some trees/logs set up in one area for the pups and kids to climb on. Nicely kept. Has a very nice playground nearby for the kids and my boys enjoy watching the tricks being done by the bikes and skateboards at the skate park too!
