Not as much grass as I would like, more packed dirt/mud, but I'm a bit pickier about it because I have a white dog. Bring a folding chair on a busy day if you want to sit, because there are only a few seats available. Also, be careful if your dog is small enough to squeeze through the bars, because the park is situated right beside the street. Other than that, plenty of space and usually plenty of friendly big dogs.
