Good Park needs some work

Its a good park for the most part. I would love to have come area grassed because the mulch can get pretty nasty at times. Also would love to have light with the dark season in play

Olde Izaak Walton Park

The off-leash three quarter acre dog park is located at Olde Izaak Walton Park (850 Davis Court, SE 20175). This project was completed in the spring of 2009.

The dog park is the Town’s only recreational facility specifically for our four-footed citizens. The dog park at Olde Izaak Walton Park includes a 25,000 square foot fenced off-leash area, dog waste stations, picnic tables and benches. Citizens had lobbied for the creation of a dog park in Leesburg for a number of years, but finding an appropriate location proved challenging. A number of sites were considered, including the possibility of leasing land from Morven Park. In September 2008, the Town Council approved the plans to build the park at Olde Izaak Walton Park, an existing Town park. Construction costs were approximately $18,500, which was significantly lower than costs would have been for a new park. The dog park is open from dawn to dusk and can accommodate up to 10 dogs at one time.

Very surprised at the bad reviews. The park was fine although kinda noisy next to the freeway. It was a good size and securely fenced. Our dog had a good time except for the nasty, snarly chow that kept trying to mount her and was also snapping and snarling at me and my husband! The owners thought it was cute of course. Control your dogs or keep them out of dog parks, people...

There is a working water spout now, no grass surface, and completely mulched except for river stone gravel around the water spout. Not recommended for flighty small dogs, since there is no separate area for them and there are some pretty large gaps in the fence corners.

My dogs and I loved it!

Went here today while the wifey was shopping at the outlets. Based on the reviews here, I was concerned it wouldn't be a very good dog park. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived though. The grounds inside the fenced area is completely covered in pine mulch, so it smells delicious. There's at least 1/4 of an acre of free running space and my dogs definitely got their energy out there. Oh, and there is water from a spout in the park, so you don't need to bring your own. My dogs loved it and I did too.

People bring in dogs from

People bring in dogs from their dog sitting business and don't watch after them or pick up after them. The rule is two dogs per person but one person will bring in four or five. Also, there's a gap in the fence small enough for my dachshund to slip out of pretty quickly.
