Our biggest complaint, the

Our biggest complaint, the dog park is closed too often. On the day we have our entire family together you guys have the park closed.

Not Safe!!

For a park that charges I would expect that the facilities would be better kept. There were FOXTAILs growing in the park! Foxtails can be fatal for dogs or at the very least cause some really nasty infections (Google it and see some really scary pictures and hear some horror stories).

They did have benches in the shade but I have to agree that not having the park open all weekend doesn't make any sense.

We won't be going back to that park again!

Commie dog park

I used to take my previous dog to Atherton Park and we loved it. I don't live in the area anymore, but I have a new dog and wanted to try this new park. After packing him up and travelling 15 miles we were very disappointed to see that he had to have a $25 license. He was really sad because he had already seen the other dogs. I spent some time in China this year and you have to pay to enter public Parks in addition to paying taxes because of communism. There's a very fine line here.

Overuse is Good and Bad

This dog park site definitely has overuse issues, but I like the fact that so many dogs come to this park. I've created a new website devoted to this park at http://www.millracedogpark.com so come by and share your thoughts in the discussion forum. (P.S. I'd love this site to link to this site. It has more information than the city link included in the park description.)

Fees

The fees are stupid and it closes early (at 4pm) on Tuesdays and Sundays "to let the grass rest". Problem is there's no grass, it's just weeds because they don't water it. And I paid $25 for a out of resident tag. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was open then.

fees tags

How much does a no park tag fee cost? Why do they have such high fees, think of all the dogs that use this park...Where is all of money going? Certainly not into mosquito control.

double taxed!

Paying for a fee to go into a public park is a double tax. The residents already pay for the park. This in no way should be put up with.

Taylorsville mayor Russ Wall

This mayor claims that the park was closed because of Dog feces in the pond. He claims that it would cost 80,000 to drain into the sewer. Does this send a red flag to anyone else? This Mayor is way too money hungry.

The park is closed?

So is the park really closed? Or has it opened back up yet? Yeah I had no idea we had to pay a fee either.

Park closing x2

This is really unfortunate I just bought a dog with this park in mind as it is a high energy dog and this is very close to my home. I know there is a lot of crime in that area but still this is a loss to anyone in the center of the valley with a dog that enjoys the park.

Park Closing

Isn't anybody else outraged? I use this park legally with all of the fees paid and on Saturday I found the park chained and closed with a sign that said due to vandalism the park was closed indefinitely. It looked like it wasn't going to open anytime soon and Taylorsville city is punishing law abiding dog owners and running off with the fees. I filed a complaint with the city, and others can do the same on the Taylorsville city website. I would love to get this park back open but have no idea about how to go about doing it. Please contact me at wildflower801@hotmail.com if you are interested. Also, let me know if the park has since reopened.

PARK TAGS!

got a ticket for a no "park tag", where are the signs, there are no signs indicating that your dog needs a "park tag".......I have been at the park 5-6 times...

My dog loves this dog park

My dog loves this dog park, I love it too. But the Sunday and Saturday hours drive me crazy. I love to take my dog anytime Sunday and Saturday but it is very limited. And it is not cool that you have to pay to go in, it doesn't make any sense.
