First of all, we love this park!! The people are great here and the dogs are very friendly for the most part. I do have a BIG problem with the children coming in the park that are under 10 as well. My dog jumped on one and you would have thought that parent was going to get the firing squad out! Their kids should not have even entered the gates according to the posted rules!! There is a reason that children under 10 aren't supposed to be in there--- Not all dogs are great with kids and they aren't on a leash.. It could actually be a horrible situation for an unsuspecting child. It's the DOG'S park and there is one right next door that allows dogs and children of all ages.
I would give this park 5 stars if they could find a way to install a better pump/filtering system for the pond- it can get pretty bad at times.
well you can always take your dog somewhere else
I am surprised that someone would complain about this park.. one of the things that was so nice about it was that i could bring my kids and they would play with the other dogs as well as ours.. and also that i could bring the stroller in and walk or just relax.. haven't had any issues with any dog being aggressive towards the kids or the baby.. If your afraid to say something to someone..like "my dogs aren't so kid friendly, or i dont want him to knock him over" then dont complain.. everyone i've met who goes there is curteous and willing to watch there pet. I do think it would be GREAT to have an agility course there.. would help to train my crazy pup
This is a lovely park where my pups should be free and I am very angry. Apparently rules are NOT enforced. (Who enforces these?)There were several people who thought they could break the rules.
One couple enjoyed a Subway lunch on a park bench, fortunately none of the dogs around were of the begging type and all had a good breakfast!
Next were the baby strollers and dogs having exotic enticing smells. Mom's please don't do this. We left that area only to have a 5 year old girl think our puppies were cute (and they are!) When she stood and petted them no problem, but when she squat down to hug them she was quickly overwhelmed by their weight and began to panic. We took the pups and Mom calmed the little girl. My pups are 9 mos old and have no children close to them. The age for children at the park is 10. I understand that many smaller kids can handle dogs, I'm OK with that, but please let my dogs be dogs and play with dogs! WE DON"T WANT TO PLAY WITH YOUR KIDS!
My dogs love this place. I would like it a little better if it had a few more benches. I have met some really friendly people and dogs here.
This place is awsome has benches, agility courses, ponds, and water fountains for dogs and humans, then of course u can wash your dogs after! Love this dog park and so of course do my dogs.
First visit was great, and I will return. The park was nice and well cared for. The people are nice and so are the dogs.
My Golden loves this park...
Went to the park for the first time last week-end. Very nice and much land for dogs to run. Pond is great for the water loving breeds. Will go again. Only thing I could wish for would be an agility course for the dogs like some tire jumps, weave poles, ramps, tunnels and chutes.
I love bringing my dog to this park! I live across the street from it so I don't even have to get in the car. It's good exercise for the both of us. I wonder, though, how long is the trail?
Wonderful off leash dog park. We have been bringing our aussie shepherd puppy since he was 4 months old. He is 9 months old and we have met terrific people and great playmates for our dog.
More benches have been added. Also, more trash cans with bag stations have been added. Still plenty of open space. Lots of trees and plenty of squirrel's to chase.
This park is great. We also love the fact that this option is now available in Katy. The Yorkies and Labs all love the pond and fields to play in. I HIGHLY recommend this if you are in the area.
We thought the park was awesome! Very clean! Not as crowded as other parks, for sure! We will definately go again! Our two Dogs loved it, and I would also like to add how clean the water is! Although I do agree with the other person on that you need more benches around the pond.
The dog park in Katy is great. There are 5 comfortable metal benches, a nice swimming pond, a covered dog washing area, a walking track, 4 large trash bins with courtesy "waste bags", and ample running room for your furry friend. Usually there are also plenty of potential new friends for your dog to meet and run around with, not to mention a plethora of squirrels to be chased up the numerous trees. Most of the time the people that frequent this park are very friendly, but as with anywhere these days you will find a bad apple (usually the owner, not the dog) from time to time. I highly recommend this park.
This dog park is very relaxing and very nice to go to. It is right next to the library so you can grab a book and read while your dog is having fun too. The people that go are really nice as well too. It could use a few benches next to the pond though but other than that it is a great park. I am so glad there is finally one in Katy, so I don't have to go clear to houston take take my dog to the park.
