Moss-Wright Park Has More Shade For Leashed Walking
2

The dog park is within another park, so it is a bit of a treasure hunt to find if you are simply passing through on the Interstate and want to take a break/play stop.

Grass was a bit sparse when we visited last Summer. Since it was VERY HOT in the afternoon sun due to no shade in the dog area, we drove back over near the playground area and parked in the shade. We had our lunch/snack and then walked on leash around the park under VERY shady trees to shake off the restlessness of being in the car for several hours.

Cute little park, good for small dogs.

Took my corgi today on our way from Florida to Ohio... It wasn't muddy at all, met some nice people there too. If you're looking for the dog park, it's located by the aviation park/ soccer fields.

The Park

All of the dogs and owners that i have met at this park are very friendly. The front of the park has some grass, but much of it is mulch. The back part of the park has mostly grass.

mudddd

Ugh.. mud. The first time taking my dog to the park there were about ten other dogs there, most were large. A few were growling and acting a little unfriendly. My dog (english bulldog) just ignored them though. There was a large mud puddle from where the water runs off the wood where the fountain sets, and My dog decided to lay in the mud. half of the park is grassy, and the other half is all dirt. When i left my shoes, my car, and my dog was coverd in dirt and mud. Also, They day we went it was very dry, and hadn't rained in a few weeks. There was loose dry dirt everywhere.

all the owners were really nice, and they provide bags to pick up accidents.

An unaltered dog does not

An unaltered dog does not belong at the dog park, and you should leave if requested. It is the policy at every dog park I've ever visited, and was the sole reason my dog was neutered. Wait a few months, instead.

Not bad, but not great.

Nashville certainly lacks dog parks in the quantity and quality I've grown accustomed to, but the handful in the area are fairly decent. I have a Chihuahua who, while fairly sturdy, is still only 7 pounds. He hikes regularly, so the dog park is really only an off-leash treat, since hiking is always with a leash. I visited Fenway's Moss-Wright Dog Park a few times now. The facilities are very nice, well designed, and relatively clean. My biggest complain is the lack of a distinct small dog section. While my dog doesn't mind being around larger dogs, they present a hazard simply by stepping on him or not realizing their relative strength. Plus, you get the occasionally "I just brought the dog home from the pound today" visitor who puts an unknown dog out of their control around smaller animals, resulting in a "rabbit" chase. Other than that, the park is decent, although parking on the side of the road is unpleasant with a dog, and the park can be hard to find, since it is not at either entrance, but hidden behind the secondary entrance.

Nice

This park is never crowded. They have a pool and agility toys newly added for the dogs. Trees, picnic table, and benches available.

Some old man

The experience was good, except some old man was giving us grief about bringing my unaltered German Shepherd in...he was 6 months old at the time and yeah!
