I would like to apply for a permit I am a non resident. I can't get into the web page to pay.
Help!
Please be aware:
Only a total of 100 permits are issued annually. So if you do not have a permit, you can forget about taking your dog to this park. There is currently no publication to make you aware of this limit, what fines are implemented, and who will be enforcing any violations.
Permits are now required in order to use this park with your dog. Humans are welcome within the park any day, while dogs with permits are welcome any day except Wednesday and Sunday.
The permit form can be viewed and printed here:
http://www.thornburg-pa.gov/dog5-4-2012.pdf
Permits are $20 annually for Thornburgh residents, $40 annually for non-residents PER DOG, with a maximum of two permits per family.
As per an email message from the council president, this conservation park is currently being used as an off-leash dog park. They are in the process of implementing a permit requirement for the users, but nothing has been finalized. It will be posted at the park when it is finalized.
This is a great park area. The only downfall is (the majority of) people do not clean up after their dogs, so you have to be careful where you walk. Hopefully this will get better after permits are needed, so the irresponsible dog owners will likely no longer come.
At least temporarily. The Army Corps is going to spray and it wont be safe for pets or humans. I go all over the city with my dogs and this palce is my favorite. You turn off busy Steuben sreet and enter an entirely different world.
