Wonderful large area full of friendly folks and dogs. Only drawback is TICKS this time of year. Wasn't able to find the previously mentioned swimming opportunity, but we'll be back.
This place is by Far the biggest park in oregon I've been to. We have visited over 30 parks in this and the Portland area, and this one blows them all away. We live in Salem and we come here 4-7 days a week. Huge grassy area for ball chasing and doggy play. Long trails into deep grassy/bushy areas for exploration and exercise. Fairly busy with plenty of company and friendly people and doggies. Hardly ever any kind of bad confrontation with dogs or people. Far off from any main roads, so no fence is hardly and issue, even with dogs who are not great with come back calls. Miles of paved trails around the park that can be walked/biked on leash, including alot of riverfront. No other park compares! Seriously!!! Just check it out If your thinking about it! I promise your dog will love it the best!!!!
