Sandy River Delta area has miles of off leash wilderness trails and rivers. Dogs must be on leash in parking lot and on confuluence trail. Be sure to bring water for your dog.

Sandy river Delta recreation area, also known as "Thousand Acres". Huge dog park with miles of well maintained trails, and access to the Sandy and Columbia rivers. If your dog has good recall this one is a must visit. Warnings: as the name implies, this is a river delta and can be quite muddy in spring. This is a mixed use recreation area, horses may be present, hunting and firearm use is permited in fall in a clearly marked portion of the park (east of the power lines).
