I LOVE this dog park!! We have been here more than 20 times and have always had a pleasant experience! The creek is a huuuge hit with my Kennedy. It's the first place she always goes. The dogs have always been friendly and socialized and the people (usually) pay very good attention to their dogs.
My dog did get an infection from the creek, but when dogs pee and then drink from it, what do you expect? I haven't even been around the whole park it's that big. There are walking bridges so you don't have to get your feet too muddy :).
My problems with the park how ever is the limited parking and the irresponsible owners who don't pick up their dogs poop. As long as you don't come during peak hours, parking isn't too bad.
Well I visited this park today for the first time and I have to say it was really nice....muddy but nice. The people that I met was very friendly and the dogs all seemed to like Jasmine, of course they were much bigger than her but still liked her. We couldn't go into the area for little dogs so we walked around the larger dog area. She loved it!! We will diffently go back!
This is a great big dogpark, with a good opportunity for stretching your legs, be you 2- or 4-legged. It's nicely fenced, and there's a lot of variety, with a creek and mature trees. And sometimes there's mud, a big hit with Fridley!
Just visited a dog park in western Nebraska recently. They had wonderful wooden built benches with slated roof. Really nice for 1-3 people to sit on while at the park. They also had running water faucet(s) at both ends of the dog park.
Maybe this park could look into the option of putting something such as this in the Holmes Lake dog park. Make it so nice not to have to tote water back and forth to the park.
We love to visit here!!
I love this dog park, and so does my dog. It is so nice to have a separate fenced in area for smaller dogs. The bigger area has so much room to run, water for the dogs to play in, and a lot of benches for the owners to sit and relax. It is also located right by the bike path so I ride my bike there because when it is crowded there aren't many places to park unless you park across the street by Holmes Lake. I take my dog there almost every day and all the dog parents are really nice.
This is a fun dog park. Our two dogs love it. The dog owners are nice. There is a fenced off section for smaller dogs and a huge area for the larger dogs. In the larger dog area there is a lot of water (ponds and streams) so expect to have a wet happy dog when you leave.
