Help

I will be coming to the St Louis area in September. I have a Pit & Lab mix..The first park I clicked on said no pits and the second park I clicked on said something about needing a permit. Any suggestions as to where I can take my wonderful dog is greatly appreciated!! She loves to hike trails and she loves the water!

I joined the park in January and couldn't be happier! I have a young lab who needs lots of energy but who doesn't really like to fetch - he likes to play with other dogs. While the dog park isn't enormous, it's more than large enough for a dog to exercise off leash and I have never seen it even close to too crowded. They have hoses for you to fill dog bowls with fresh water or rinse your dog off if they get dirty. They have plenty of places to sit and relax while your dog plays. I find it perfect as a student because I can take my books and study until my dog wears himself out. They also provide sturdy pick up bags and bins so cleaning up after your pet is easy!

I don't know what previous posters were talking about when they said the people were not friendly. I honestly have the problem that sometimes the people are TOO friendly and won't stop talking to me. The people who go every day definitely get to know one another and it's a great way to socialize with people you wouldn't normalize run into.

Additionally, I have never encountered any aggressive dogs at all! Occassionally two dogs will get into a little tiff but it's usually because one gets frightened or overwhelmed and once the two are separated all is well. I've never been there when anything that couldn't be fixed with in a minute or two has occurred.

I go at least once a day and it's perfect for students who need to study! Without a doubt I would recommend joining!

small dogs

I joined a couple months ago I like the park. But here is the problem there are two sides for the dog park a small dog side and a regular to large dog side of the park. well I have two large labs and every time I go I get these little nipping dogs that should be in the small side they bother my dog and my dog had an encounter with a little dog the owner of the little dog got very rude to me and all I could say was put your small dog in the small side of the dog park RIGHT WHATS THE POINT THEN ENFORCE THE ---- GO TO THE SIDE YOUR DOG BELONGS IN small dogs on the small side just cause your friend comes with a big dog still stay in the small side I'm really sick of this problem and I'm not the only one that feels this way do something can I make them leave the park who can I call when this happens.. Im not happy!!!! just say:n

Definitely NOT FRIENDLY!

I am new to the area and stopped by the dog park. Having recently rescued a dog who is still very timid; I wanted to try it out to see if it would be a place I would want to purchase a membership. I will not be purchasing a membership with U-City dog park due to the behavior of the pet owners not the pets. It is unfortunate because the park could be a really cool place. How do you expect people to join if they are not given the opportunity to check the place out?

rude

I had just moved in to the area and stopped by the park with my dog to see if it was a location I would like to purchase a membership to. Unfortunately the patrons in the dog park were very rude and pretty much sent me and my dog on our not-so-merry way. I will not be buying membership to this park.
