Thsi dog park has trees, benches, and mulch ground cover (no separate small dog area).  Be sure to bring water for your dog.  Outside of the dog park there are some nice paved trails and a river, there is an unfenced off leash area just north of the river.

The park at Whitney is a great place to take my dog for exercise and socialization. I've met numerous people and dogs there. This is a great place to learn tips on raising your dog or set up play dates and meet friends. There is a group of people that have adopted the park and are creating improvements to make the park more user friendly.
