Good in a pinch

Visiting from out of town and needed a place to exercise my dogs. This is a long field, dirt up the center, with grasses on each side. People are generally aware of their dogs, but some folks and dogs tended to congregate at the gate, making it hard to get my dogs in.
Nice quiet area at the left of entrance on far side of fenced in wildflower area. My dogs could finally relax and run without being chased.
Some dim owners... I had to tell to one woman to please stop her dog from jumping mine - she was oblivious until I said something. Another guy egged his pit bulls on when they started to chase other dogs. Romping is fine. A flat-out chase? No. Chase is NOT a good game in a dog park! It can go bad fast. Keep walking with your dogs and pay attention, practice recalls.
As I said, this park is good in a pinch. I will head over to Battle Creek for a better time.

Nice amenity to St. Paul

Stat say '7 acres', but is seems smaller. Probably due to lack of trees and such. the grounds consist of mostly prairie grass.

Pros
- Not actually on the Mississippi (read: no water)
- Nice amount of shade from Bridge
- Great view of your car from anywhere in the park

Cons
- Few trees, and no grassy runs
- Seasonal mud holes
- Access is a bit tricky

All-in-all it's a nice, little hidden park that's great for smaller dogs. Larger dogs, or dogs with high energy might get bored. There's no swimming/water area, however there is access to the river directly across/outside from the park.
