nice but not great

Callahan is a nice state park with lovely trails for long walks as well as an open grassy field and pond for the dogs to play and swim. But the dog walkers congregate here, many of whom bring more than 10 dogs with them! Furthermore, some of the dog owners exhibit poor control over their dogs. Aggression can be an issue here. Come early or late for the best experience.

Leash Law?

Leashes are needed in the parking lot and some of the front trails otherwise this is one of the only off leash parks in the area. Eagle Pond is the area where most dogs come to play. There are miles of trails as well.
