The beach part is closed due to erosion (April 2010), let us know if it re-opens. This dog park allowed for dogs at the beach and a fenced dog park. There is a separate small dog area, benches, drinking water, and a rinse station in the fenced dog park. People may not swim at the beach but the dogs can when it is open.

I absolutely love taking my dog to this park. Yes, there is a park entrance fee, but you gain access to the entire park (which includes an area to walk around by the water). The dog park is just a portion of Quiet Waters. There are two sections in the dog park: big and small dogs. There are benches for owners to sit and also water facilities for the dogs. Both people and dogs are always friendly. Overall, great place to go.
After moving here from NYC about a year and a half ago, we were delighted to find Quiet Waters. It's a beautiful place within walking distance from our home and when we decided to adopt a puppy, we knew this would be a great place. After 2 weeks of socializing our newest addition things have been going really well. He's been able to meet some good people and dogs alike. The only issue we've had was visiting the bigger fenced in area, and all 5/6 dogs ganging up on our pup. It's not so much him getting picked on that was upsetting, just the fact that absolutely NONE of the other owners there had command over their animals nor the consideration to physically take control of their dogs. Even one guy there replied "No." when I asked him to get his dog off of me and mine. And then proceeded to tell me it was my dog's fault since "all the other dogs attacked your dog". A mentality of "it can't be my fault, it has to be yours." All in all, I've encountered mostly nice (at the very least, tolerable) people in Annapolis. In any other location where we've had dogs, NYC and Colorado, all the owners take great care and pride in making sure that their animals are under their vocal command at all times. This is something that this particular group of owners had no clue about. I'm not sure if it is an indicator of laziness or ignorance, or a combination of both. That being said, we do like this park and for the most part like Annapolis. Looking forward to continuing our little guy's socialization here despite our one negative encounter.
The fenced in dog park is medium sized, not really big enough for my dog to get a good sprint after a ball thrown with the chuck-it but completely adequate for her or any other dog to run around and play. Water is available. Its very different from my local park as people seem to bring their dogs and then completely ignore the dogs and other people at the park. It wasn't too messy though, which I found surprising due to the amount of inattention.
There are places to hike with your dog on leash as well. We used to drive up for the dog beach which is closed now. It was very small when open and I've been there a couple times when a snake swam out of the water.
Large area for the dogs to play, good for small dogs and plenty of others to get your puppy socialized. The scene is beautiful and our pup always has a good time there.
Molly and I visit Quiet Waters daily, The park is beautiful and a great place to walk your dog. (they even give your dog a treat when you enter the park) The dog park is a fun place for all dogs. My complaint is not with the dogs but, with the owners who don't pick up after their dogs. We have had an incident at the beach with an agreesive dog, again, I was disappointed with the owners reaction and failure to maintain his dog. The dogs are great!!! the owners, please follow the rules!
