Great for hiking

This park has a bunch of hiking trails that connect to the dog park, open fields, and a waterway.

This park is NOT CLOSED!

Just visited this park and although I only used the fenced area... It's all still opened and there are NO housing developments in the vicinity. Lots of great resources for an off leash park. Many options to meet your needs! Nice park

Fenced play areas you can find anywhere. Mutt run is special because not only does it have fenced area but ALSO woods, fields and trails for people who have a safe recall on their dogs. (I have sight hounds. If I can teach them to reliably come back to me then anybody can with enough work.) It is a bit much to ask for them to fence over 30 acres so your dog won't get out.. so please don't take them off a leash if you are not confident or stick to the fenced area. I have lived many places in the U.S. and Mutt run is a very rare place. Use your common sense and cherish it.

Great trails

We've been to this park dozens of times, the thing I love most is the trail system this park has. Unless you have a few hours it will take a couple visits to explore everywhere. If you park by the river and keep following the trail along the river it will eventually lead to open fields, but there are three connecting trails along the way that will take you to fields. This really is an off leash area: the road to get to the park is a dead end, the river is on the south side, and the north and east boundaries are open fields. If your dog has lots of energy and you like taking your dog on trails then this park is for you.

Loved by two spoiled dogs

My two dogs get to go here everyday and love it. There is an enclosed area that is helpful if you are afraid that your dog might not come back. If you trust your dog's listening skills he/she will love it here as there are usually other fun loving dogs here willing to play with each other and most owners (not all as its not a perfect world) are very considerate and attentive to their dogs so disagreements are minimal, but do happen. Bags are available to pick up and during the warm months there is plenty of water. If your worried your dog might not like it, go during the morning early afternoon on a weekday for a trial run as there are fewer dogs to deal with.

fun, but scary

My dog has never been to a dog park before so I took her here yesterday. She was a little nervous, but played with a few other dogs and looked around. This was a great experience and I will definately take her back! The only bad park was that there are no fences. My dog stayed on a leash most of the time because she likes to run off. I let her off a little and she took off with a few other dogs! If there were fences I would love it that much more. But overall, we had a great time!

There is an enclosed area
5

Just to clarify, there is an enclosed area. It's to the left of the parking lot, instead of to the right where most of the dogs play. There is a big gate that leads into the enclosed area.

The enclosed area is ok...it's a path that leads around, but there are tons of trees in there. Great for dogs, but horrible for humans!! I was a little scared my dog would go in and I'd never get him out. The other section where most of the dogs play is a huge open field. There is even a path a little further back that the dogs can walk on. Overall, it's a VERY dog friendly (and people friendly) park and I highly recommend it! My dog can't live without his biweekly Mutt Run visit.

its risky!!! BUT COOL! :)

Its a Beautiful park, streams to drink out of, birds to chase, and other dogs to pack up with.

But the thing that worries me the most is that my dog can go out of the park area and get lost in the city! :( We found my black lab in another part of the park, we unleashed him to the wild area of the park and no what! He was off like a dart and the 1st thing he did was to go and hide from us. An hour and a 1/2 later we found him in the stream playing with a huge pack of other dogs.

And then my boy saw the most coolest thing ever! A wolf (as so he told us it was) laying down on the bank and a fox was in the water. Now that is a wild story but not impossible!

I don't like that its NOT an enclosed area so the dogs can run off and never to be seen ever again! :( but its cool over all :) Go there for your dogs birthday! :)
