I love the way the place looks but the pee smell from the artificial grass is horrible. But i love the ute fountains and the tunnels.
We travel a lot so get to see lots of park. This one, as already stated, has great infrastructure but my dog doesn't seem to like the crowds and/or the AstroTurf. Normally she runs around in dog parks like a maniac but here I can barely get her to play. It's nice and we will go again when we're in town, it's just not our favorite.
It's such a nice dog park, but for some reason my otherwise rough-and-tumble golden doesn't know what to do here. I just think he prefers real grass since it doesn't burn his paws on a hot day.
For all the reasons others have said, this park is very very nice. But, artificial turf has an odor to it already. Not sure how it is maintained/cleaned but needs to be taken into consideration. Also there is an area that is not artificial grass, just to the side of the main leveled area and owners are not picking up the poop in that area so there is an odor coming from there too. BUT this is a terrific park once you get past the odor.
With the Beneful contest prize money, this rebuilt dog park has it all. There was a lot of money spent on infrastructure--the ground was leveled out, drainage was amped up so that the AstroTurf doesn't hold water. There's a great covered picnic area, and water fountains for humans and pups alike. It is true that the upgrade to the park has brought a lot more people out to use the facilities, but it's stabilizing a bit now...typically there are 20-25 dogs running around and playing on the splash pad. Great job and kudos to those who planned and built the park!
Small park but great amenities. Bridges, rocks, fountains, etc with artificial grass. The only thing that would make it better is to be larger. Because of it's popularity now there are lots of dogs. Area for small dogs too. Was recently renovated by HGTV celeb for $500,000. Money contributed by Beneful.
Renovated by Beneful® brand dog food, the first-of-its-kind dog park offers two splash pad water features, doggie tunnels and obstacles, special artificial turf, walking paths, a fetch area, benches, shelters, and drinking fountains for pooches and people.

I have been to this park twice now, and have learned that my first visit was "incomplete". There seems to be TWO dog parks at Newtown. The first one I went to was huge with only one play area and seemed a little run down.
On my second visit, I discovered that there is a newer section that is really really nice. There are THREE sections for dogs to play in - a small dog section (small area, too) - a big/all dogs area - and a newer more rugged big/all dog are.
There is abundant water, poop bag stations, benches for people, rocks for dogs to climb on... in short a very nice park for my critters to play in.
This is a great dog park. We are very fortunate to have this area for our dogs to play. The owners are very friendly too.
