Not my favorite

Well we were confused. You see me and my sister are little Beagles but we only saw one area that was designated as a dog park and it had both big and little dogs in it.
It was full of big holes that we could fall in when running really fast and get hurt.
It is mostly dirt too. Been dug up mostly. We went today March 19, 2014 and it is our go to place in Emergencies when we need to get out for awhile when our regular place is closed.
We are still checking out dog parks in Tampa because we have just been adopted but so far we have none close to home so we have to drive. Carrolwood really needs a dog park and Al Lopez park is not a dog park

off leash park

I brought my dog here with no expectations. The park is mainly a dirt park, fenced, with no division for small/big dogs. There's plenty of room for dogs to run and whatnot. Overall ok, with shade and fences for dog owners to lounge.

So So...

The park is OK, but they do not have separate areas for dogs of different sizes. Some dog owners are apparently not so attentive to ensuring their pets learn good behavior, so keep a close eye on your pet and all will be well. We go to the park often, so it's not bad...just could be ideal by adding separate areas for different sized pets.

Decent Dog Park

I used to frequent this dog park on a weekly basis (Nov'09-Jun'10) and never once received a parking ticket. There is a parking area literally next to the dog park area. There are three separated sections for dogs of all sizes. The large dog area got bad for a while, it was a sand pit filled with broken glass. My husband would literally pick up handfuls everytime we went. So we tried to stay in the middle area which was great! I want to say May?ish they made an attempt to clean up and add mulch to the sand areas so it did get better. We did always run into very friendly dog owners and dogs. As far as play experience goes, our Aussie definitely had a blast at this park.
