Dog Park Finder
Convenient and easy to locate Dog Park great for large and small dogs. Separate areas each with access to water, shade, sitting areas, toys, and water play for the dogs. Large dog section has a bone shaped pool with wading and swimming while the small dog area has a rocky landscaped waterfall and wading area. Off leash play leads to socialized and positive dog relations. I have a small IG and she loves to visit her “friends”.
This is a well run, clean and safe place for dogs to play and people to socialize. My dog gets a true workout running up and down the dividing fence! It's unfortunate that some folks have had a bad experience but for 6 months me and my dog have thoroughly enjoyed it.
The park is run very well and my dog is always excited to go. The only problem I've experienced is when people try to bring little dogs into the big dog park but it's usually fixed by the staff rather quickly. Highly recommend buying a membership. It's made the biggest difference in my dog :)
Wow, I just moved to the area, and decided to give this place a try. It would be great, IF you don't mind your pet being bullied by pets owned by friends of the management. The entire time I was there a bulldog owned by an obese man was constantly harassing/biting my dog, I didn't say anything the whole time. I decided enough was enough, and decided to leave. As I am attempting to put the leash on tmy dog, this bulldog is still biting at my dog, well it actually nipped me on the hand, my reaction was of course to physically stop the dog. Well this obese man caused a major argument, even after I am trying to leave, he is still trying to start a fight, and actually told the management. I am thinking wow this guy is in the wrong, he has clearly violated their rules. NOPE the management sided with him, THEY DON'T EVEN ENFORCE THEIR OWN RULES. My advice, this place is terrible, you and your pet will be bullied.
This is a great park! My dog would live there if she could. There are plenty of other dogs around and a great bone shaped pool. Highly recommend.
This parent fails to understand that this park is for your dog..not your children.Your children can play with their dog at home.As a dog owner I wouldn't want to worry about your children's safety over my dog's enjoyment. My dog is not exposed to alot of children and in the excitement of other dogs to play with mine may knock your kids down(70 Lbs.of Fun).I'd rather you be angry over not be allowed in than being angry your child was hurt.
I know it can be awful to think you can't bring your children with you to the dog park. But think about it...when under the age of 13 or so they can be rather short, and lively. To most dogs this looks like another playmate and things can get rough quickly!
Or maybe the other dogs at the park have never been around kids. What would happen to your poor child if it were bitten in the face by a dog unfamiliar with children?
I live in Fernadina Beach and I heard of a new dog park that opened. On Sun 3/7/09 I took my dog along with my 12 year old and 7 year old. When I got there a woman gave me an awful look and asked how old my children were. I stated there age and and she then advised me that my children could not be let in because they were not old enough. Before I went to this park I looked it up online. No where did I see an age limit posted. I have never been to a dog park that had age requirements. I understand rules are rules and they have to be followed, but if this is their policy they need to post it somewhere online. Fortunately, I live only about 20 min away so I did not have far to drive back home. BEWARE if you have children that would like to join you for a day of play with your family pet they are NOT ALLOWED. I think this is absoloutely wrong. I have heard of bars and night clubs that had an age limit but never a DOG PARK.
EDITOR'S COMMENT: This dog park does in fact have an age limit for children. "No children under the age of 13 are allowed in the
dog park." This is for safety reasons and many dog parks nationwide have similar age limits. It is always best when the rules are posted by the gate and someone should make the owners of this park aware of that.
