As long as you go during low tide you are okay! Bring your own drinks! Tons of friendly dogs/owners. Highly recommend for water fun :-)
This is by far our dogs favorite dog park on our trip from Maine to Florida!! The perfect place for Frisbees and balls, and loads of friendly dogs and owners!
"We were there and it's very nice and the one off leash dog beach in the area. It is right outside the Lover Key State Park. However you do not want to go at high tide unless you want to be on your own dog island. When the tide comes up you must wade through the water to come and go....not bad but if you are not into wading or if your dog is not comfortable watch the tide. Be aware..you are right off hwy 41...so if you release your dog before entering or straight out of your parked car....your dog may be in the danger of being run over by the fast approaching cars. There are signs that state to wait til you have entered the park but with no fence you may not be aware of the danger. I wish they would put up a fence and have more signs explaining the danger. One last note...there is no membership or charge and it's open all day til dark.....they do have a volunteer program." -lisamarie008
