Loyal Duke is a fun dog park

My dog Nigel and I visited Loyal Duke every morning, while in Salida for a week. He loved it. Loved all the dogs. I enjoyed the views and the benches and shaded shelter. Plenty of parking. Great spot! Thank you to the folks who keep it so nice. Happy to see a donation box and use it.

Nice Park

Good fencing, gating, and benches. H2O available. No trees yet but a metal "carport" provides some shade. Basic but great for an off leash romp.

Loyal Dukes

Beautiful views of the surrounding 14 foot mountains and access to a nice walking path are two or the best features of this dog park. It is a pretty "basic" park at this time, but Salida does now have an official place for both locals and visitors to let their dogs run and play off leash! Members of the local Dog Club are continuing to make improvements and add new features to the park.

Loyal Duke's Dog Park

A great fenced in park with water available. Tourists will appreciate allowing their dogs off leash when visiting the area.
Water is available, benches, a separate small dog park. New to the town, the park was created by the Salida Dog Club and their next improvement will be trees for shade. Also there is a great walking trail- on leash - right by the gate to the off-leash area. The trail is 2.5 miles and going east takes you to downtown Salida.

Salida Dog Park

Duke's Dog Park is a great Dog Park along the the Monarch Spur Trail. We often walk the trail on leash and then run and play with our friends at the park off leash. The park is maintained by the Dog Club and is constantly being improved. Trees are going in this week.

This is not a bark park

While the local dog club did a good job of putting together a great facility, it is too close to homes to be a bark park, and the club enforces controlling barking.
