Do not abandon dogs here

Several dogs have been abandoned at the dog park. The correct place to take a dog to give it up is the Humane Society. "According to Arizona Revised Statutes, intentionally subjecting an animal to cruel neglect and/or mistreatment is a Class 6 felony punishable by a fine of up to $150,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 1.5 years. Sentences can also include community service, no animal ownership for three years and restitution."

enforce the rules

I think some one needs to enforce the rules a bit more with the yuma dog park.

there are too many owners who bring aggressive, possessive dogs that dont get along with the other dogs there.

i go to the dog park every wednesday and friday and i see the same owners with the same dogs.
my dogs have also been a victim of carless owners and their dogs.

Also i want to add that some owners keep their dog on a leash and walk around inside the park.
i know its a rule to have them off the leash.
when a leashed dog walks into the park and all the other dogs come running at it the dog panics and some times ends up biting the other dogs.. simply because it was leashed.

the owners need to learn to let the dogs go.
if the dog cant handle it then they shouldnt bring them back.

but other then that i love the park !

Dog Park in Yuma, AZ

BARK PARK in Yuma, AZ is located just behind the Wall Mart off Pacific Ave, on Palo Verde St. I take Jake, my weimaraner almost daily when I am in Yuma. Lots of room for running, some agility toys, poop bags, benches, water and trees. Jack likes to stalk the flocks of birds that gather here in the morning. People very friendly. Sometimes the park is closed due to flooding after a heavey rain.

First visit. Could not have been more pleased. Easy access, next to Wallyworld, with several entrances, clean, well-groomed, all friendly folks. I plan to return with pooper-scooper and pick up after others who have not. (must be snowbirds)

Anyone who has been to the park: what do I need need to come? I will have with me and my dog to take a ride in this park?

I'm new in the city so don't know more rules of the park (beyond the rules of official yuma site)

The sign I read "says that its an off leash park! Yes, your dog needs to be on a leash when they enter and exit the park but not while they are in the park...
