I am very appreciative for the care that goes into this dog park. It is used by so many and is always busy. The staff is friendly. The park is always clean. They were even innovated enough to provide dirt to fill in holes that are left by some dogs (or should I say owners who let their dogs roam unattended). They also have a recycle bag program that uses old grocery bags that are donated and reused. They do have a small dog park that I take my dog to. It is just on the north side of the larger dog park. Overall a very nice park that is constantly used by alot of good people. I have a great time there.
After being in the area for over a year we finally found this place for my mom to take her dogs. Her community has no such fenced in yard for small dogs and the anxiety there is with big dogs would just be too much for a little dog, as well as the danger.I found this park to be quite suitable and roomy. Some folks complain about grass and warm water etc, but I say its absolutely fine. Im sure you will feel perfectly comfortable here and welcome. If your dog needs much more fancy park, I suggest you build one. Its always the spoiled and one uppers that get on here and complain.I posted most of these photos so you can see for yourself. Its an awesome dog park.
I just moved here and was excited to take my dogs to the dog park. I checked the Surprise web site, loaded up the dogs and drove out there only to discover that the dog park is closed on Wednesdays. It seems decent enough, but we had to look longingly at it from the wrong side of the gate. Shame on you, City of Surprise for not posting this key bit of information on your web site.
EDITOR COMMENT: You are correct the City of Surprise does not have this info posted. But thank you for letting us know, we have listed the info here and hope to spare other dog owners the same disappointment.
We take our Dobe there often... only because that is the closest park to us. They don't supply plastic bags to pick-up after your dog, the landscape is not kept up, like other dog-parks, the tables are always dirty... and what grass??? Look's like crap!!!
I can't figure out why they close the park for every wed... come back the next day, it still look's like crap!
Oh yes, also the water fountain the pressure is tooooo low... and the water temp. is really warm for the dogs. You go out of the dog-park, and drink from the other fountain's...that water is cold!
Over-all, Think they should put more effort into the dog-park, not that stupid tennis court... they put enough into that. We the tax-payer's want, and deserve a clean, and well-maintained dog park... just like other dog parks!!!!
