Shawnee Dog Park - Chandler

I took my 3 dogs to the Shawnee dog park today and I spent more time protecting my dogs and pulling other dogs(who would NOT STOP trying to hump) off of my dogs!! There were 2 dogs (with different owners) who were bullying and trying constantly to hump my dogs! The owners called these dogs (who wouldn;t listen) and only made one failed attempt to stop their pets' bullying. I understand we were at a DOG PARK.. and dogs will be dogs... but this was ridiculous. If you can be responsible for your own pet, don't bring them to the park! 2 of my dogs spend more time trying to avoid and escpae these other dogs than they did playing!

This is a really nice park, it closes on Tuesday's for cleaning, but otherwise has a wide range of dogs. Sometimes there are as few as 2 or 3 dogs, and some times as many as 15-20.. The latter gets pretty crowded...

This is such a great park!! Lots of shade, very clean and a good gate system. It also has an agility course.

I generally like this park. It is big and has lots of mature trees, which is nice on a hot Arizona day. It also has benches and tables for people to sit at. This is a nice feature however I do find that people will sit and chat with each other and not watch their dogs. This can be a problem if their dog dedicates and they are not paying attention. I guess that can happen at any dog park. I thought the point of the dog park was to have a secure place were you could spend time with your dog(s) off leash not with other people.
