This dog park is pretty nice. Separate areas for passive and active dogs, plenty of seating, and there are lots of bags provided for owners to pick up after their dogs.
On the active side there is a set of tubes dogs can run through, and there is water right near the tubes.
I also like the shade areas provided for both people and dogs.
Overall 4 out of 5 stars.
This is in response to "I hate this dogpark" post.
I LOVE this park, but I do go very early and there is a great group of dogs and their people with them.
I have heard that there are occasionally problems later in the day.
HOWEVER, I don't understand where the line "read the rules take your big dog to the big dog side" comes from since the park is not divided by "small" or "large" but by "active" and "passive" dogs.
Kind of subjective, but them's are the rules to be read.
BTW - noted as N/A above, there are restrooms - one set in the building at the end of the park, another in the parking lot.
I've brought my two collies here several times. Yes, it can get very crowded, but I have found that it is large enough to find enough room for my girls to run around. I haven't come across any overly-aggressive dogs. It is just that when there are 30+ dogs in a confined space, there will be some growls and snipping - that is just to be expected. Very clean and well-kept park, with great water stations, poo bags, agility equipment and places to sit. People are friendly here, and I have always enjoyed my visits. Expect a lot of dogs and their owners, and be open to the fact that dogs don't always get along. Mellow out and enjoy the visit, and all will be good!
I have been going to this dog park for 9 years. It used to be a nice place to take your little dogs. It was a driving range converted to a dog park. The city took it over and gradually it's lost it's appeal. It attracts a lot of aggressive large dogs into the little dog side - big dog owners just stroll on in, don't pay attention to the rules, and then get in your face if you object. The only reason I even go here, is sometimes it's closer - but I usually go to Fountain Hills. This dog park is a complete waste of your time. You have to watch your dog constantly to make sure someone with his aggressive dog isn't hammering on your dog. My little dogs go right up to big dogs and bark - then I have to listen to someone tell me about his gentle big dog. It's like read the rules, take your big dog to the big dog side. The big dog owners run the little dogs owners out of the park. There are also a lot of self-appointed experts who get in your face if you say anything.
Tonite again, there was a guy with a pit bull, on a leash, pushing the little dogs away. If you want somebody with a pit bull pushing your dog, this is the place for you.
Lots of balls everyone takes care of their dogs mess. Best one I've been to.
